How about a Detox

We eat a quick harmful chemicals making regular detoxifying of our system almost mandatory so as to stay healthy. Even though we exercise, drink plenty of alkaline water, take supplements, try to avoid sugar, eat right and take enough sleep we are still told to detox our fearfully and wonderfully bodies (Psalm 139:14). I try to keep this up as best as possible but constantly give in to sugar cravings God help me.

Physical detoxification is not enough. No matter how many green smoothies and herbal teas we down, or how many enemas and saunas these are not sufficient to help us stay healthy. Medical science discovered what Jesus Christ said a thousand years ago, that a healthy mind is a healthy body: It is not what goes into the mouth that matters but what comes out of the heart. He said out of our hearts come evil thoughts and all manner of wickedness which defile us (paraphrase mine). If these things come out form our hearts it means they have already been stored up in our hearts, poisoning our entire system releasing toxins and hyper enzymes.

In his book “None of these diseases, S.McMillen MD, writes that “medical science recognizes that emotions such as fear, sorrow, envy, resentment and hatred are responsible for the majority of sicknesses”. ‘ Emotional stress can cause high blood pressure, toxic goiter, migraine, headaches, arthritis, apoplexy, heart trouble, gastrointestinal ills and serious diseases too numerous to mention”. Edward Sterns also maintains that, unresolved emotional pain changes the amount of blood flowing to our organs, affects the secretions of certain glands and changes the tensions of our muscles. It is no wonder that we have to consciously sit back, examine our lives and get rid of all the toxic thoughts and emotions.

Psalm 37:8 says, cease from anger and forsake wrath; do not fret it only causes harm. Hebrews 12:15, “looking carefully last anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble and by this many become defiled. I imagine that the harm and defilement being referred to here may include the physical ailments listed by S.McMillen who coincidentally dedicated his book to

I also dedicate this post to all the Designers Women out there. Let us take time not only to detoxify our bodies but detoxify our minds getting rid of all those emotions that pollute our mental and physical health. This may not be an easy ride and some of us may need extra help to untangle all the myriad of emotions and thoughts. If this is the case why don’t you prayerfully seek the professional help of a therapist or counsellor. You can’t solve a problem by saying it’s not there but at least you can start from the beginning to unravel the knot of unresolved pain. I am not promising it will be easy but it will be worth the effort.
