Merry Christmas and Happy New year
I am so glad that I am able to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy 2021. With all the chaos going on around the world, deaths continuing to skyrocket in countries it is still going to be a merry Christmas. In one country in particular there has been a new strain of the Corona virus which may or may not be resistant to the vaccine. Things are looking bleak this December and 2021 looks even bleaker so why am I still saying it’s going to be a merry Christmas? Why don’t we just skip it this year and pretend it never existed?
Because Christmas Day marks the first coming of our Lord Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world, our Redeemer, Master, Friend, King of kings and Lord of lords. He left His glory in heaven and came down to earth for you and I. Paul in 2 Corinthians 9:15, says “Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words” , which is the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. I cannot imagine a world without Redemption coming in the package of a Person, Jesus Christ. That’s why Christmas will always be merry. It’s when Light shone in Darkness and Salvation came first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles. His coming brought about redemption and forgiveness of our sins, victory over death, sin and the enemy.
Christmas will always be merry because of Christ. It is a hard saying but it’s not about the feasting, the partying , the family reunions, the presents, the Christmas concerts, the carol services and the Christmas plays it’s about Emmanuel ( God with us). Even if you cannot afford the festivities or cannot travel to meet with family, Jesus Christ came to die for you and I. That is the Ultimate , the Priceless. Kingdoms come and kingdoms go, this pandemic too shall pass away like every other created thing but this season we will celebrate the Master of the Universe in spite of everything.
His name shall be called
Prince of Peace and
The Government ( of mercy, righteousness, truth, justice and love) shall be upon His shoulder.
P.S . Remember to share this good news with others and whatever else is in your hands.
